Spiritual Transformation

Bishop Clarence Williams • General
There comes a time when we must face our issues and giants and deal with sin. We have to stop and be honest about things going on in our lives, our homes, and our churches.

Many people, including churches, have allowed other things to take the place of God and what real/true worship is all about; however, replacing God with other things -- manmade programs and entertainment for instance -- causes these things to become idols/gods. But God commands us to have no other god before Him. (Exodus 20:3) When we do, it becomes easier to fall into sin; and sin always has repercussions.  As a matter of fact, the Bible says that the wages of sin is death. (Romans 6:23) There comes a time when we must face our issues and giants and deal with sin.  We have to stop and be honest about things going on in our lives, our homes, and our churches.  We often try to avoid talking about it, but it's time to get to the root of sin so we can hear from God.  We need the Spirit of God to move upon us like He did upon the face of the deep. (Genesis 1:2)

It's time to address the issue of sin, even in our pulpits.  There are too many extra-marital relationships going on in the church today (including the pulpits), and nobody's being held accountable.  And so, if nothing is being addressed and no one being held accountable, the congregation feel they can live the same way.  But please listen to my counsel today – Hell is Real! We have to make sure we are living right. It is time to be pure and holy; untainted, for without it we won't see God. When we stop speaking on holiness and cleanliness, no one is changing, and the result is that no one is getting healed or delivered either.  There are no great moves of God taking place because no one is addressing sin.  The Bible says that a little leaven spoils the whole lump.  "You ran well.  Who hindered you from obeying the truth?  This persuasion does not come from Him who called you.  A little leaven leavens the whole lump."  (1 Corinthians 9:24)

There is so much profane talk today, unlike it was way back when.  But Thank God for His mercies that show up every morning.  You know you are guilty and don't deserve it, yet His grace is sufficient.  God is cleansing His church, and the heart of the people are turning back to God.  He's been dealing with you about your dedication and your time because it is no longer church as usual.  Things are changing.  People are tired of being entertained.  They just want God, and they are hungry for the things of God.  Return to God.  The more time you spend with Him, the greater your hunger and thirst for Him will become.  God had pity on His people Israel when they profaned His name among the nations where they went.  He cleansed them from all their filthiness and from all their idols, and He took away the stony heart and gave them a new heart.  He put His Spirit in them and caused them to walk in His statutes and keep His judgments.  He wants to do the same for you.  He wants to cleanse you and restore you to your rightful place in Him.

Where God wants to take you, there has to be a spiritual transformation so that His glory will be seen in the earth.  It's time to be at such a spiritual level that darkness flees at your words and the very sound of your voice.  But in order to see His glory, we must change.  Become sensitive to the way you talk and act.  Don't get upset when people say wrong things to you; God wants you to be spiritually mature.  Paul said in 1 Corinthians 3:2, "I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for you were not yet ready.  In fact, you are still not ready." Being a born-again Christian doesn't make you mature.  Being an adult, a pastor, or an elder doesn't make you mature.  Spiritual transformation is a process.  You have to make a choice to live in the Spirit every day.  Walking in un-forgiveness is not God.  Forgive people.  When you allow the Holy Spirit of God to take control, He will convict you of things.  Stop having attitude and holding grudges.  Get your act together so you can position yourself for the blessings of God.  Most importantly, Love God with all your heart, mind and soul!  Don't make excuses for your actions and ways.

Ask God to show you how to live and how to treat people.  Ask Him to show you how to love people – especially when they don't love you, and when they talk about you.  Matthew 5:44 reads, "Love your enemies; bless those who curse you; do good to those you hate you.  And pray for those to spitefully use you and persecute you." Learn to trust and obey God so you can have a spiritual transformation.  We must allow the conviction of God in our ministries and hearts. He may make changes in us and do things that are uncomfortable for us -- like praying for our worst enemy -- but when we allow Him that place, things will change, and good things will begin to happen for us.  Start releasing the Holy Spirit in the church and in the earth to do what He needs to do.  None of us can save or deliver anybody.  But the more we talk about Him and teach about Him, the more of His presence we will see in our lives and churches.  Become a Spirit-led person; a Spirit-led ministry; a Spirit-led family and watch the Spiritual Transformation that takes place in you, your family, your church, your children, your marriage, and so on.  Always remember, the choice to make a change is always yours.
