Go After the Kingdom

Bishop Clarence Williams •
Jesus gave us a key to living a victorious and worry-free life - Go after the Kingdom! In other words, learn to live according to the Word of God.

“That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life – whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear.  Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing?  Look at the birds.  They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them.  And aren’t you far more valuable to Him than they are?  Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?... Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need.” Matthew 6:25-27, 33 NLT

Don’t think that God doesn’t know what we need.  It is His good pleasure to give us the Kingdom.  He doesn’t want us to sit and worry about what we will eat, drink, or wear, and He doesn’t want us to worry about tomorrow.  Jesus gave us a key to living a victorious and worry-free life – Go after the Kingdom!  In other words, learn to live according to the Word of God.  He wants us to seek His way of doing things.  He wants us to seek His face and spend time in His Word.  He wants us to love those who hate us, forgive those who treat us wrong, and reflect Him in the earth. He wants us to make Him our priority by seeking the Kingdom first.

The enemy loves for us to have our priorities mixed up.  He wants us to occupy our time with things that keep us too busy to seek the things of God.  Taking a second and third job, for instance, to make more money to meet our needs is a way the enemy keeps us busy, tired, and exhausted.  But when that happens, the results are a loss of zeal for God and time with God, which can hinder our spiritual growth.  Being so busy and exhausted can weigh on our physical and mental health, cause us to lose valuable time with our family, and much more.

When we make the choice to receive Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior, we are brought out of darkness into light.  We must then take the time to understand the Kingdom of God and how everything functions in His Kingdom, because God’s ways are not like the world’s ways.  We must renew our mindset to Kingdom mindset.  In the Kingdom we have rights and benefits.  All our needs are provided, and angels are available to be dispatched on our behalf. (Hebrews 1:14) But even angels know the laws and language of the Kingdom, so they will not respond to incorrect prayers.  When we speak the language of the Kingdom of Heaven, angels are dispatched on our behalf to minister to us because we are now operating on Kingdom principles.  That is the way the Kingdom operates.  Angels are tuned in and programmed to respond to the Word, and the prayer of faith.  When you know truth and how to operate in the Kingdom, no devil in hell can tell you your needs will not be met.

The greatest investment you can make in this life is in the Kingdom of God.  Jesus said, “According to your faith be it done unto you.” (Matthew 9:29) So don’t be conformed, tied down, or subject to this world and its ways of thinking and doing things, but be transformed in your mindset and way of thinking. (Romans 12:1-2)  Learn God’s ways by reading the Bible every day and applying it until you are converted in your mind.  Operating the Kingdom way does not always come easy, but our minds were not designed for darkness, which only brings oppression, depression, sickness, worry, and fear.  We must daily monitor and check our thoughts and not allow our minds to wander, but train it to hold the thoughts of God.

Decide today to seek the Kingdom of God above everything else and watch God transform your life and take you to new levels of strength and victory.
