Don’t think you can entertain negative thoughts and conversations all day long and not be affected.  Don’t think you can watch corrupt and unwholesome movies, shows and entertainment on television every day and not be tempted or influenced in some way.  Everything starts with a thought, and what you do with that thought subsequently determines how you proceed.  “Temptation comes from our own desires, which entice us and drag us away.  These desires give birth to sinful actions.  And when sin is allowed to grow, it gives birth to death.” (James 1:14-15) Listen to the warnings on the inside and make the necessary adjustments.  Learn from the Titanic – heed to the warnings and turn while there is still time. 

When a person gets off track (adultery, for instance), it doesn’t happen overnight. It may start with a few overly-friendly gestures and subliminal comments with a co-worker, then lunch every once in a while; but each step of the way, I assure you, there were several warnings.  The devil is very subtle and deceptive, but it’s the little compromises that lead to inappropriate behavior, and eventually adultery (in this particular instance).  When married, never become emotionally connected with someone of the opposite sex, because eventually you become physically connected. Never discuss personal and intimate things concerning your spouse and marriage with someone of the opposite sex.  Don’t make the mistake of believing that because your spouse isn’t talking to you, you can talk to someone else.  Consistently compromising is taking chances with your life – like gambling. 

God will never force us to make right choices – the decision is always ours to make.  There are consequences, however, to making wrong choices.  Don’t take the risk of losing your family and marriage for a momentary satisfaction.  Stop hanging around friends and family who constantly compromise; it will affect you.  Make a choice today to go down God’s best path for you and your family, and receive a lifetime of blessings.  Choosing to satisfy a short-term appetite can alter the course of your destiny and cause you and your family to miss a lifetime of blessings.

Heed to the warnings on the inside and change the course of your direction while there is still time.  God’s grace is sufficient for you, and His mercies are brand new every single morning. (Lamentations 3:22-23) If you need to turn, turn.  If you need to forgive, forgive.  If you need to repent, repent.  But whatever you do, do it quickly; do it today; do it now.
