Go From Hopelessness to Hopefulness

Bishop Clarence Williams • General
God can make a way out of what seems to be no way, and as long as Christ is still here, there is still hope.

Hopelessness is an awful feeling, and what looks like hopeless situations can make you feel like a failure; but I want you to know today that having faith in God can turn hopeless situations around in your favor.  According to the Word of God in Hebrews 11:6, we have to believe that He is God, and that He wants to help us, and then start acting on what we believe.  It’s not about how things look or how people act; it’s about what you believe, and in whom you believe.

There is no failure in God.  Deuteronomy 31:8 reads, “The Lord is indeed going before you – He will be with you; He will not fail you or abandon you.  Do not be afraid or discouraged!”  God can make a way out of what seems to be no way, and as long as Christ is still here, there is still hope.  The key is putting Him at the head of your situation.  It is not enough to just believe that He will make a way, you must also act upon what you believe.

What is God saying about your situation? God told the prophet Ezekiel to speak to the people and tell them to hear the Word of the Lord.  He told him to speak to the valley of dry bones and tell them that they will live again.  (Ezekiel 37:2-14) Speak to your dead situation today and tell it to hear the Word of the Lord.  When God’s Word comes to you it is to help you.  Sometimes people don’t want to hear God’s Word because they want to stay in their situations.  But understand that God’s Word is life, and it brings forth life.  God knows what is best for us all.

Because of disobedience, spiritual things die in our lives; but when we walk according to the Word of God it brings life and hope.  The Bible says that He hastens to perform His Word. (Jeremiah 1:12) It is very important that you read the Bible daily so that it can get in your heart.  What is in our hearts in abundance is what comes out of our mouths.  “The good person out of the good treasury of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasury produces evil, for his mouth speaks from what fills his heart.” (Luke 6:45) The Word of God is powerful, especially when you believe it, speak it, and then act upon it.  The Word of God is actually greater than your storms.  You can walk on the Word of God, and stand on His promises.

There is hope for your situation.  It comes through Jesus Christ.  God is waiting on you, to see what you are going to do.  He has already made a way; He has already spoken truth; He has already provided the answer.  All hope is not lost, especially for a child of God.  Abraham, against hope, believed in hope. (Romans 4:18) Do you want to see some things change in your favor and come together for your good?  Start speaking the Word of the Lord to your hopeless situations.  Tell your situation (marriage, finances, career, relationships, dreams, goals, etc.) that it will live again.

There is always hope in God.  Our ways of thinking just have to change.  Don’t wait for things to look different or get better before speaking and acting like it’s better.  Speak the Word of God and declare change now!  Get your eyes back on God.  I know some situations seem impossible to change, but in those times, you must trust God because He is the only one who can bring you out.
