Hold on a Little While Longer

Bishop Clarence Williams • General
Don't allow your emotions (hurt, pain, rejection, failure, betrayal, disappointments, and so on) to overwhelm you or cause you to doubt God's Word.

Trials – no one likes them, but all of us must go through them.

The Bible teaches us that there is a time and season for every purpose under the heavens (Ecclesiastes 3:1). Some storms last longer than others, but trust that God will answer your prayer if you don't faint or lose hope. The weariness of waiting out the process for your breakthrough however, can sometimes be frustrating and disheartening, but I encourage you today to take a deep breath and then hold on a little while longer. Don't allow your emotions (hurt, pain, rejection, failure, betrayal, disappointments, and so on) to overwhelm you or cause you to doubt God's Word. The Bible says that weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning (Psalms 30:5).  In fact, God can give you peace and joy right in the middle of your storm if you will allow Him to.

Decide today that you will make it through this trial.  And while you're going through, keep in mind that your battles are never against people (Ephesians 6:12); we battle on our knees, and with the armory God has given us.  We love those who hate us, bless those who curse us, and pray for those who spitefully use us.  That's God's way according to Luke 6:27-28.  Never allow your hearts to harden or become bitter during your trial seasons. Determine in your heart right now that you will keep your joy, your peace, your sanity, your family, your marriage.  You are stronger than you realize, and although it doesn't feel very good at the time, our trials are actually preparing us for greater and better things.  The key is understanding the power we possess as children of God to create the outcomes we desire by facing adversity God's way.

I want to share with you an excerpt from my book, Master Your Storm: "You may right now be hurting in your body, going through difficult times in your marriage, or have received a negative report from the doctor, but no matter what you're facing, don't take your eyes off the King.  Stop saying you're tired of fighting; remember, it's not your fight.  And if the battle is not yours, then what is yours, is VICTORY!"

So, I encourage you today to hope in God!  He wants to turn your mourning into dancing and your sorrow into joy.  Go ahead and lift your head, dry your eyes, square your shoulders, and speak to your circumstances.  Wait upon the Lord and trust Him to see you through this season.  "He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.  Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion.  But those who trust in [wait on] the Lord will find new strength.  They will soar high on wings like eagles.  They will run and not grow weary.  They will walk and not faint." (Isaiah 40:29-31 NLT). God's timing is perfect, and you will reap your harvest if you do not faint – just hold on a little while longer.
